Location: The Judy
1000 SW Broadway T-100
(Home of Northwest Children’s Theatre and School)

Everybody’s Eyes Are On the First
Book by Teague Shattuck, Music by Naama Friedman

2pm

Tokenization is the next big sensation, and there’s nothing trendier than a transgender! Struggling actor Rafi thinks he’s about to show the world what success looks like as the first and only transgender infomercial host, but not everyone has his best interest at heart in this razor-sharp musical satire by Teague Shattuck and Naama Friedman.

Rules of the Rope
By Josie Seid

7pm

Dexterity, stamina, rhythm, speed. As sisters Telma and Sugar reflect on their lifelong rivalry following their beloved mother’s death, they begin to realize the rules of the rope are a lot like the unwritten rules for life. Playwright Josie Seid’s exploration of the way threads weave through generations is skillfully tied together with joyful Double Dutch jump-rope-inspired movement and original music.

What is The Hatchery?

Some new plays start with a writer, a table, and a group of actors.

At The Hatchery, new plays start with an imaginary dance. A red dress vision. An earworm melody. Or an irresistible beat.

We celebrate and support new works centering movement and music through development workshops and a free one-day festival.
